Who We (NCRC) Are
The North Carolina Roadrunners Club, founded in 1979, has been an integral part of the Raleigh running community for over 40 years. We're a nonprofit group that supports other nonprofit groups in our community. Our signature annual events are the Run for the Roses 5K in February, the Snoopy's Social Run (#RunForSue) in February, the NCRC Classic Half Marathon and 10K in May, and the American Tobacco Trail 10-Miler and 4-Miler in October (pictured above). Beneficiaries of these events include Team Red, White & Blue, Four Paws and a Wake Up-NC, SPCA of Wake County, the Umstead Coalition, the American Red Cross, and the Triangle Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. We also traditionally have quarterly Adopt-a-Highway pickups, a member rewards program with an annual dinner celebration, quarterly socials and other events, and monthly social runs, including a January donuts run, an April art museum run, a July sunflowers run, an October winery run, a Day After Thanksgiving run, and a December Christmas lights run. We have NCRC Meetup (for neighborhood runs and race meetups) and Strava groups. We also support Tobacco Road Marathon, Sir Walter Miler, and USA Track & Field's cross country program. Members also get running-related discounts and a free digital newsletter six times a year. Members also have the option of participating in a 1,000 Mile Club motivational program. Our website contains a wealth of information about running (or walking) in the Triangle.
